Italy-U17
Turkey and Italy stormed past their rivals, Montenegro and Bulgaria respectively, on the last day of the preliminary stage of the 2020 U17 EuroVolley. Thus, Turkey will play the semifinals as the No.1 in Pool I (5-0; 14 points), while Italy claimed the No.2 in the pool (4-1; 12 points). Slovenia did their share by sweeping Slovakia and hoped Italy will lose in order to advance to the semis, which didn’t happen as we said.
In Pool II, the names of the semifinalists were known prior to the last day. Russia downed Romania and finished first (4-0; 12 points), while Serbia remained at the second place (3-1; 9 points) after beating Belarus.
