History was made in Istanbul as Savino Del Bene Scandicci powered past European volleyball giants VakifBank Istanbul in straight sets (25:12, 25:19, 25:21) to reach their first-ever CEV Champions League Women final.
Facing the most decorated club in competition history, Scandicci showed no nerves. They came out firing in their maiden Final Four appearance, dismantling VakifBank with aggressive play, tight defense, and near-flawless execution.
Antropova led all scorers with 17 points, with 48% attack efficiency. Herbots followed with 12 points, posting a 55% excellent reception rate. Setter Maja Ognjenovic controlled the tempo and added 6 points of her own, maintaining 100% excellence in her offensive attempts.
In contrast, VakifBank struggled to match Scandicci’s pace despite solid contributions from Marina Markova (10 pts) and Xinyue Yuan (9 pts). VakifBank edged Scandicci in blocking (11–6) but lagged in reception and attack efficiency, finishing with just 35% excellent attack compared to Scandicci’s 52%.
With this win, Scandicci sets up a mouthwatering all-Italian final against fellow A.Carraro Imoco Conegliano.
VakifBank, meanwhile, will face Numia Vero Volley Milano for bronze in their final match of the season.
