Türk Hava Yolları (THY) earned a dramatic 3–2 win over Germany’s Allianz MTV Stuttgart in the first leg of the 2026 CEV Cup Round of 16, giving themselves a narrow advantage heading into the return match.

The clash at Istanbul’s Burhan Felek Vestel Volleyball Hall saw the home side start strongly, taking the opening two sets 25–20 and 25–21. Stuttgart responded with resilience, fighting back to claim the third and fourth sets 27–25 and 25–19, pushing the contest to a deciding fifth set.
In the final set, Türk Hava Yolları regained control and closed out the match 15–9, sealing victory after just over two hours of intense play.
The second leg will be played on January 14 in Germany. Another win will send the Turkish side through to the next round, while a 3–2 defeat would force a golden set to decide the tie.
