Moya Radomka Radom secured a place in the last 16 of the CEV Cup after an extraordinary home victory against Mladost Zagreb.
Trailing after the first leg in Zagreb, Radomka faced a clear challenge: only a 3–0 or 3–1 win would keep their European hopes alive. The hosts rose to the occasion, claiming a straight-sets victory (26–24, 31–29, 25–21) to force a decisive golden set.
Both of the opening sets were closely contested and extended beyond the regulation points. Radomka edged the first set 26–24 before surviving a dramatic second, in which they briefly lost control after leading 13–6. Despite facing a set point, the Polish side regained composure and prevailed 31–29. The third set remained balanced until the closing stages, when Radomka produced a decisive run to close out the match.
The golden set delivered the night’s most intense moments. Mladost took an early lead and moved within a single point of qualification on several occasions. Radomka, however, showed remarkable resilience, saving ten match points before completing a late turnaround. The decisive point came after an attacking error from the visitors, sealing a 22–20 golden-set victory and sparking celebrations among the home crowd.
With the win, Radomka advance to the round of 16, continuing their consistent presence in European competition after reaching the quarterfinals last season. Their next opponents will be the winner of the tie between VfB Suhl Thüringen and CSO Voluntari 2005.
