Busto won first leg by 3-1 and needed to get two sets in rematch against Maritsa on road to secure the spot in the 8th Finals of the CEV Cup. Italian side took what they came for but not as easy as expected – finally it was 3-2 for Bulgarians but only after Busto took 2-1 lead. Valentina Diouf was unstoppable in the winning team with 30 points (4 blocks).

Polish and German representatives, Budowlani Łódź and Allianz Stuttgart (Julia Schäfer – 14 points) advanced to the next stage with double straight-set wins over Montenegrin Luka Bar and Estonian Kohila, respectively.

In a Finnish classic between the two best teams from this country in the past few years, champions HPK Hämeenlinna smashed LP Viesti 3-0 after achieving same result in the first leg. A 20-year-old opposite Piia Korhonen highlighted HPK with 17 points.

Besides above mentioned teams, Hungarian Linamar Békéscsabai and Bosnian Jedinstvo Brčko also qualified to the 8th Finals out of today’s matches.
