Latvia chipped their fifth straight victory in the 2018 CEV Men’s Volleyball Silver European League on the last day of penultimate round. The Baltic side cemented their lead in Pool A with a 3-0 win over Former Y.R. of Macedonia, partially 28-26, 29-27, 25-17.
Before the last round, Latvia have 15 points and a 5-0 record while second-placed Austria have 12 points and a 4-1 record. These two sides will decide on pool winners who will gain an automatic berth for the Final Four in Skopje, Macedonia, in a direct clash on June 6.
Edvarts Buivids was the best scorer for Latvia with 17 points. Andrejs Zavorotnijs made 5 kill blocks. Nikola Gjorgiev scored 15 points for Macedonia.
