The titleholders Shakhtior Soligorsk defeated fourth-placed Legion Obuhovo away for the second time in two days, finishing Round 11 of the Belarusian men’s volleyball championship with the maximum of 6 points. Both times, Shakhtior beat the rivals in straight sets: yesterday by a 25-18, 25-21, 25-15 and today by a 25-20, 26-24, 25-19.
As for the match today, Uladzimir Zhyhmont topped Shakhtior with 19 points while Dzmitry Kumasa scored 18 (4 aces) for Legion.
The format of the Belarusian championship is very interesting. It is a round-robin tournament but in which every team plays against only one rival per round, two days in a row.
