The Dutch team defeated Egypt in four sets which blew all the hopes of the team from Africa 3-1 (25-18, 25-21, 23-25, 25-16)! The boys from Egypt are going home…
Wouter Ter Maat had a good display, scoring 26 points, while Hisham Ewais had 18 points.
Russia have also scored a convincing victory against Cameroon, even though they barely won the second set, 30-28! Victor Poletaev led the Russian team with 13 points. Cameroon have also ended this tournament with 1-4 score.
Belgium didn’t have any problems with the Dominican Republic, scoring a 3-0 victory and finishing the group stage with a 3-2 score. They are now waiting for the final standings, to see in which Pool they will continue the competition. Hendrik Tuerlinckx topped the scoring list with 14 points.
Two teams that are leaving the tournament, Cuba and Puerto Rico have met today and it ended with a 3-1 victory of the Cuban boys.
