Wilfredo Leon set a new VNL record with 13 aces that helped Poland to beat Serbia 3-1 (26-24, 25-19, 21-25, 25-15).
It was the first record in the competition and almost doubled the previous one of seven aces in one match, jointly held by the Japanese Yuji Nishida against Bulgaria and the Australian Samuel Walker against Brazil, in 2019.
Leon’s record-breaking serving performances include the fastest VNL serve with 135.6 kilometers per hour. The previous VNL record was held by Italian Ivan Zaytsev at a speed of 134 km / h in 2018.
