In the first semifinal match of Tokyo 2020 men’s beach volleyball tournament Anders Mol and Christian Sorum (NOR) secured their place in Saturday’s gold medal match after a 2-0 (21-15, 21-16) win over Martins Plavins and Edgars Tocs (LAT).
Viacheslav Krasilnikov and Oleg Stoyanovskiy (ROC) were better than Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tian (QAT) in second semifinal, and after a 2-0 (21-19, 21-17) victory they reserved their place in the Olympic gold medal match.
So, in the Olympic final, the Norwegians Anders Mol & Christian Sorum will be challenged by ROC team Viacheslav Krasilnikov & Oleg Stoyanovskiy. Martins Plavins & Edgars Tocs (LAT) will play vs. Cherif Younousse & Ahmed Tian (QAT) in the Olympic bronze medal match.

Mariafe Artacho Del Solar & Taliqua Clancy (AUS) will take on April Ross & Alix Klineman (USA) for the Olympic gold at the Tokyo 2020 women’s beach volleyball tournament. Tina Graudina & Anastasija Kravcenoka (LAT) will play vs. Anouk Verge-Depre & Joana Heidrich (SUI) in the Olympic bronze medal match. Medal matches at the women’s Tokyo 2020 women’s beach volleyball tournament are scheduled for Friday, August 6.
