The France National Team advanced to the semi-finals of the 2022 FIVB Men’s Volleyball Nations League by dominating Japan in Bologna.
France’s habit didn’t change. Since 2015, for the sixth time in seven editions (including the FIVB World League), ‘Les Bleus’ have advanced to the semi-finals of the Volleyball Nations League. The Olympic champions ideally started the Final 8 of the competition, which is being played in Bologna, Italy, by dominating Japan in the quarter-finals (3-0).
It was visible from the start of the match that France was wary of their rivals who had a notable preliminary stage campaign. The team from the land of the rising Sun was a worthy opponent only in the first set. Both teams were deprived of the presence of one big star. France couldn’t count on Earvin Ngapeth, who injured his ankle and was spared from playing. On the other side, Yuki Ishikawa also didn’t play due to injury. Jean Patry top-scored France with 19 points.
