Tianjin Bohai Bank made history, securing their first-ever spot in the FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship final. With a roaring home crowd in Hangzhou, Tianjin defeated Brazil’s Dentil Praia Clube Uberlandia 3-1 (25-23, 25-21, 24-26, 25-22), powered by a stunning performance from captain Li Yingying. She delivered 32 points.
Despite both teams matching each other in spike kills (63) and errors (12), Tianjin’s blocking strength (20-11) proved decisive.
In the other semifinal, Italy’s Prosecco Doc Imoco Conegliano showcased their dominance, sweeping Numia Vero Volley Milan 3-0 (25-23, 25-14, 25-23). Zhu Ting, playing on home soil, led Imoco with 15 points, while Isabelle Haak and Gabriela Gabi Guimaraes added 14 and 12 points, respectively. Vero Volley’s Paola Egonu stood out with a match-high 22 points but couldn’t turn the tide.
On Sunday, Tianjin will battle defending champions Imoco for the title, promising an electrifying clash. Earlier in the day, Dentil Praia and Vero Volley will fight for bronze.
