Tijana Boskovic was on fire for Serbia, scoring 26 points with a 61% success rate, as the reigning world champions took the match in straight sets—26-24, 25-19, 25-16. Young guns Vanja Ivanovic and Aleksandra Uzelac added 12 and 11 points. The win lifts Serbia to 15th place in the standings (2-9), just behind Belgium in 14th (3-8).
Meanwhile, Czechia pulled off the day’s biggest surprise, beating Türkiye 3-1 (25-22, 25-21, 4-25, 25-20). Türkiye’s 25-4 win in the third set set a VNL record (the largest point gap in VNL history), but Czechia, led by Brancuska’s 21 points, responded with resilience and sharp defense to seal the upset. Karakurt and Vargas led the scoring for Türkiye with 15 points each.
