In their final Pool A match at the Mangueirinho Arena, the Asian champions produced their best showing of the tournament to claim a straight-sets victory, 3–0 (25–18, 31–29, 25–20). It was Al-Rayyan’s first win after earlier defeats to Praia Clube and Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie. The result, however, was not enough to lift the Qatari side into the semifinals, as they finished fourth in the pool standings with three points.

Ugandan opposite Daudi Okello led Al-Rayyan with 17 points, while Roland Gergye chipped in with 10. For Vôlei Renata, who had already secured a place in the semifinals, Adriano Xavier was the top scorer with 12 points.

The tournament continues on Saturday after a rest day, with the semifinals set to decide the finalists in Belém.
