WL 2017: Sokolov and N. Penchev create win for Bulgaria in the tie-break vs. Poland

It is difficult to defeat Bulgaria at their home court, even for the volleyball World Champions Poland.

The tie-break was decisive in this game. At the result 14:14, Nikolay Penchev managed to score against the double block of Poland, while in the next rally, Tsvetan Sokolov has blocked Alexander Sliwka for a big celebration of the home fans!

Ferdinando de Giorgi’s side didn’t enter the game at the best way, as Bulgaria easily won the first set 25-16. In another two, the World Champions made a comeback, taking a lead in sets. 

Bulgaria had to win the fourth set to stay in the game and they extended game to five sets. In the tie-break, the fans had an opportunity to watch an amazing volleyball. Fortunately for home fans, they watched a game with the happy end.

Sokolov was the top scorer of the game with 21 points, while Penchev added 17. On the other side, Kurek finished game with 16 points.

Both teams so far have 2-2 score.
