Runners-up USA set off their 2017 FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix, Group 1, campaign by outclassing Russia in five sets.

In Kunshan, China, in Pool B1 (Week 1), the U.S. Women’s National Team triumphed with last ounce of strength as they chased rivals Russia in terms of score from the first set 23-25, 25-19, 25-27, 25-16, 15-11.

Good blocking (13-12) and especially serving performance (15-9) pushed the United States towards premiere win in the tournament while Kelly Murphy (4 kill blocks) with 19 and Michelle Bartsch-Hackley (4 aces) with 17 points highlighted Karch Kiraly’s side in attack.

As for Russia, Irina Fetisova (4 kill blocks) , Irina Voronkova and Kseniya Parubets had 13 points each.
