Konečný (Tours)
Although they didn’t achieve straight-set win, Stade Poitevin Volley Beach Poitiers demonstrated superiority over reigning title holders in the sixth round of the LNV League 3-1 (13-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-16).
Tours’ players were not sufficiently motivated by tremendous support of their fans who filled the stands of „Robert Grenon“ hall (2,886 spectators) despite their poor performances so far.
Eldin Demirović with 22 points and Cuban Raydel Poey with 17 were executioners of Tours, while the Czech David Konečný was the best scorer in losing team with 12 points.
Another favorites were subordinated in this round – Paris Volley. Silver medalists from previous season suffered defeat to a strong team of AS Cannes Volley-Ball. So, this is not such a sensation like defeat of Tours.
Paris even had a chance to win as they succumbed in the tie-break with 22 points from Moldovian Dmitrii Bahov. Serbian Dušan Petković had 20 in Cannes, while his compatriot Dejan Radić and Emmanuel Ragondet added 14 each.
