United Volleys Frankfurt announced that they hired a 28-year-old Floris van Rekom has just celebrated the French league title with Tours. The Dutch outside hitter is a one-time CEV European League winner (2012), coming to fight for the place in the line-up with the Australian Luke Smith and Japanese Masahiro Yanagida, who remained in the club.

The other newcomer to United Volleys from the Ligue A is a veteran middle blocker Jean-Philippe Sol, who came from Narbonne. A 33-year-old player made 100 caps for France national team, winning the silver medal in the 2009 CEV EuroVolley as a highlight of his international career. Sol will also serve as a role model to young United Volleys middle blockers – Tobias Krick, Paul Henning and Louis Kunstmann – next season.

Interestingly, both Van Rekom and Sol were already teammates once – in Nantes (2015/16).
