VfB Friedrichshafen Keeps Title Hopes Alive
VfB Friedrichshafen is back in the race for the German volleyball championship after a thrilling 3:2 victory over SVG Lüneburg. Despite missing key attacker Michal Superlak, the team triumphed in Game 4 of the best-of-five series with set scores of 23:25, 25:18, 18:25, 25:21, and 16:14.
Jose Masso was the standout player for Friedrichshafen, stepping into an unfamiliar position and scoring with 65% of his attacks. The match saw momentum swings on both sides, but the hosts held their nerve.
Head coach Adam Swaczyna praised the team effort: “It was a tough match with contributions from everyone. Now it’s about mindset heading into the decider.”
The decisive Game 5 will take place on Saturday, April 19, in Lüneburg. The series, now tied 2-2, promises a dramatic finish to determine who advances to the finals.
