The SWD powervolleys Düren have climbed back to the top of the German Bundesliga after a convincing 3-0 victory over previous leaders SVG Lüneburg. In a packed and energetic Arena Kreis Düren, they secured the sets 26-24, 25-19, 27-25.

Middle blocker Siebe Korenblek credited the loud home crowd for giving the team an extra lift. SWD powervolleys Düren coach Christophe Achten praised both sides for their long, intense rallies and said the win was “slightly lucky, but absolutely deserved.”
Düren had to adjust early when attacker Robin Baghdady left after the first set with knee issues. Jordan Poole stepped in and added emotion and stability, while Jordan Canham led the attack with a strong 60 percent success rate.
Lüneburg opened strong and led 15-10, but Düren fought back to take the first set. The second featured fast, spectacular rallies, ending with a difficult backcourt winner from Poole. In the third set, Düren erased a small deficit and held on through a tense finish before Poole’s final touch off the Lüneburg block sealed the match.
