BR Volleys vs. VaLePa
German vice-champions recovered from a shocking defeat from the Finnish representative VaLePa Sastamala (3-1), two weeks ago, and edged opponents in the second leg of the Challenge Round in front of 4,000 own spectators 3-0 (25-22, 32-30, 25-19). It ment that Golden Set had to decide which team will move to the semifinals. BR Volleys took it as well 15-11 and prevented VaLePa to make another historical step for the club volleyball in Finland.
Robert Kromm was the best scorer in the winning team with 25 points. Olli Kunnari had 19 points in VaLePa.
Belgian champions Roeselare achieved another confident win over Spanish runners-up CAI Teruel (3-1, 3-0) even without a single player with double digits. Juan Carlos Barcala Sanromán had 12 points in Teruel.
Previously, Russian rivals Dinamo Moscow and Gazprom-Yugra Surgut scheduled mutual clash in semis.
