These two teams will meet in the quarterfinals after Modena knocked out Ravenna, beating them twice in straight sets.
On the home court, Ravenna couldn’t do anything to stop mighty Modena even though they were very close in the third set, but the players of Modena didn’t want to extend the game.
The top scorer in Modena was Nemanja Petric with 15 points, while Luca Vettori added 13, Dragan Stankovic 12 and Daniele Mazzone 11. In Ravenna, Mengozzi only had double digits, finishing the game with 12 points.
“I wanted to make this team grow and this team has grown, the boys have had faith in what we were doing and now we play this season finale to the max after a difficult transition with Ravenna and a heavy victory in Champions with Perugia. On Tuesday we will try to win, the pressure we have on us is high, a pressure that only Modena puts on you, but we can and we want to play the match well,” says the head coach of Modena, Andrea Gianni.
The next game of Modena is Perugia in the CEV Champions League on Tuesday, while the next in the domestic championship is Lube Civitanova in the playoff quarterfinals.
