Milano achieved what might turn out to be a key success in the playoff quarterfinal series of the 2020/21 Italian Men’s SuperLega Credem Bancs playoffs against favored Perugia. The regular season winners failed to turn 2-0 in sets into an ultimate win and now face elimination from the 8th-seeded side: 3-2 (18-25, 21-25, 27-25, 33-31, 19-17).
The Frenchman Jean Patry top-scored Milano with 23 points, while Slovenian Tine Urnaut added 18 points on the scoresheet. The no.3 Itas Trentino managed to avoid the same fate as Perugia. They also needed to play 5 sets, prevailing over the 6th-seed Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza in Game 1.
The opening game of the series between Cucine Lube Civitanova and Leo Shoes Modena, scheduled for March 14, is postponed due to Covid-19 cases within the team of the reigning champions.

Congrats to Milano. Massive win.
Piacenza played their best so far this year against Trentino but unfortunately forgot their game plan in set 4 and all of 5.
Alessandro really was quite solid for Trentino, hopefully he can maintain this.
Grozer has to be better late in matches and Russell needs to be set more at the end especially with the match he was having.
Piacenza blocked well but needs to be more precise and aggressive from the service line.
This series is far from over
Re: @Suisse I agree, when Russell is hot they need to set him more.
