Cisterna Volley has claimed third consecutive win, overcoming Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina 3-1. Despite dropping the first set, the visitors staged a remarkable comeback led by their MVP, Michele Baranowicz.
The match, held at the PalaSavelli, saw Grottazzolina start strong, taking the first set 25-21 with Serbian opposite Dušan Petković leading the charge. However, Cisterna quickly regrouped, showcasing dominance in the following sets (23-25, 19-25, 16-25). Exceptional performances from Jordi Ramon, who scored 23 points, and Theo Faure, with 20 points, sealed the victory for the visiting team.
Captain Michele Baranowicz, who was named MVP, highlighted the team’s determination: “Victory was our goal today. We started slow, gifting Grottazzolina too many points, but we recovered well, especially with our serving and blocking game. There’s still room for improvement, but we’re on the right track.”
Jordi Ramon delivered an exceptional performance, leading his team with 23 points and an impressive 58% attack efficiency. He was backed by strong contributions from Theo Faure with 20 points, Enrico Diamantini with 12, and Efe Bayram, who added 11. Cisterna’s commanding presence at the net and their remarkable 14 aces from the serve line secured their victory.
For the host team, Dušan Petković emerged as the standout player, finishing as the top scorer with 17 points.
