Cucine Lube Civitanova stormed back in the SuperLega Credem Banca Scudetto Finals with a commanding 3-0 win over Itas Trentino, leveling the series 1-1. In front of a roaring home crowd at Eurosuole Forum, Lube took control of the match with scores of 25-21, 25-21, and 25-22.
MVP Mattia Bottolo was unstoppable, delivering 16 points and six aces to lead the charge. He was backed by Nikolov with 12 points and solid play from Chinenyeze and Gargiulo. Trentino fought hard, led by Gabi Garcia’s 12 points and solid efforts from Michieletto (11) and Lavia (10), but faltered in the final moments of each set.
The series continues with Game 3 on Sunday, May 4 in Trento, and Game 4 returning to Civitanova Marche on Wednesday, May 7. The title race is heating up with both teams now having proven they can protect their home court.
