Mauro Berruto, Italy’s coach: “It has been very important for us managing the game and winning 6 sets in a row against a team as the Iranian one and it is also very important being at 12 points in the ranking after the first 4 matches. We have different resources both in the fundamentals and in our players that every time take the guidance of the team; today we had an amazing Zaytsev. We couldn’t fail in front of an audience like today and we didn’t”.
Emanuele Birarelli, Italy’s captain: “As far as the match is concerned, we played with a feeling of safeness between us. We have fought together, and the objectives are now high. This match is a positive proof, for us from a technical point of view but we felt also an absolute positive feedback from the supporters”.
Slobodan Kovač, Iran’s coach: “We started in the right way but then we made too many mistakes and it is hard to play when you grant so much to a team as Italy. We have to be more confident. When a squad loses nobody has played good. We must improve everything, starting from the service”.
