Gianlorenzo Blengini, the head coach of the Italian national team, decided to summon Giulio Sabbi for the last several days of preparation due to the injury of Luca Vettori.
Sabbi, whose natural position is outside hitter/receiver, will be the 15th player in Italian roster in case of Vettori’s inability to play.
Blengini will have the chance to choose the team of 14 until the very start of the World Cup.
Recall, Sabbi was on a wide list, but was erased.
