The last month was not easy for Modena fans. Especially, after it was announced that the main sponsor DHL has left the club. It was even possible that the reigning champions of Italy would have to withdraw from the 2016/17 season, due to financial problems, but that is not going to happen!

Modena will play in the next season of Serie A1!

Club’s president Catia Pedrini confirmed this in official statement.

“These were hard months for my and for my collaborators. We have all fought to save the team and I can finally say that we have done it. I want to say thanks to all people who helped us get past our problems. At this point, I can confirm that Modena will play volleyball in the 2016/17 season and that Modena will aim to win all the trophies in the next season.”

It’s also kind of ridiculous if you know that they were already building up a (top) team while they weren’t even sure yet if they would keep on playing.
