After engaging former Italian National Team setter Michele Baranowicz from Calzedinia Verona, Piacenza agreed terms with legendary opposite Alessandro Fei, who will return to the club after three seasons, according to Gian Luca Pasini. Piacenza still did not confirm hiring of a one-time world champion and also a two-time CEV European Championship and FIVB World League winner each.
As for confirmed transfers, Piacenza announced signing with a 25-year-old Cameroonian opposite Yvan Kody. A 2.13m tall athlete arrived from Italian Division 2 side Conad Reggio Emilia, scoring 613 points last season.
Piacenza also renewed with veteran libero Loris Manià, who averaged 32.5% excellent reception i 2016/2017. He will stay in the club for two more seasons.
