After five successful seasons, Laurent Tillie has stepped down as head coach of Osaka Bluteon. Since 2020, Tillie led the team to major victories including the 2023 Emperor’s Cup and the 2023-24 V.League title. He also secured a World Club Championship berth by finishing second in the 2025 AVC Champions League.
Tillie, who also coached France to Olympic gold in 2021, thanked the team and fans, calling his time in Japan an “honor” and “fantastic challenge.”
Osaka Bluteon expressed deep gratitude and wished him well in his next chapter. Tillie has already taken over as head coach of the Japanese national team, succeeding his fellow countryman Philippe Blain. This mirrors the previous situation when he also succeeded Blain as coach of the French national team, leading them to Olympic gold.
