Voreas Hokkaido and Tokyo Great Bears both secured doubleheader wins during the 16th week of Japan’s men’s Daido Life SV.League, tightening the race for playoff positions.

Voreas recorded back-to-back 3-0 victories over Hiroshima Thunders. On Saturday (25-23, 25-23, 25-17), Mart Tammearu led all scorers with 24 points, while Yu-Sheng Chang added 12. Hiroshima captain Yudai Arai finished with 13.
Sunday’s rematch was closer, but Voreas prevailed again in straight sets (25-23, 25-23, 26-24). Yu-Sheng Chang paced the winners with 18 points, supported by Tammearu and Timo Tammemaa with 12 each. Felipe Roque led Hiroshima with 11. The results lifted Voreas to seventh place (9-19, 28 points), while Hiroshima slipped to sixth (12-16, 37 points).
In Tokyo, the Great Bears defeated Toray Arrows Shizuoka twice at Ariake Coliseum. Saturday’s 3-1 win (29-31, 26-16, 25-20, 26-24) was powered by Bartosz Kurek’s 25 points and Luciano Vicentin’s 22, including four aces. Toray’s Tobiastakeshi Shigeto scored 14.
Tokyo completed the sweep Sunday with a 3-0 victory (25-22, 25-16, 25-21). Vicentin scored 17 and Kurek 16, while Toray’s Daiki Yamada led the match with 20 points.
