JT Thunders beat Toyoda Gosei Trefuerza by a 3-1 (25-20, 25-21, 18-25, 25-16) on the road with 12 apiece from Thomas Edgar and Daisuke Yako. The Australian opposite played only the first two sets while Yako took part in the remaining two. Thus, the Thunders secured No.2 and a place in the 2018-19 V.League Division 1 semifinal, which will be the part of Final 3.
The other ticket for the semis was grabbed by Toray Arrows who needed five sets to defeat Osaka Blazers with 17 points from Burmese Aung Thu and 15 from French Antonin Rouzier. Both only played the first three sets.
Earlier, Panasonic Panthers secured an automatic berth for the finals as the top seed in Final 6.
The Final 3 will be held at Todoroki Arena in Kawasaki on March 30-31. The Thunders and Toray will play best-of-two semifinals.
