Gavin Schmitt marked his return to the Korean Men’s Volleyball Championship with a stunning performance but it was in vain.

Suwon KEPCO Vixtorm’s import Gavin Schmitt tallied as much as 37 points, reminding Korean fans of his brutal performances during his first stay in the country’s top division that lasted for three seasons, all in Daejeon Samsung Fire Bluefangs (2009 – 2012). Back then, he was in his mid-20s. Now, he is 33 years old but still has cannon in his arms.

However, the scoring output of the Canadian opposite hitter did not help the KEPCO to prevail over the home side of Uijeongbu KB Insurance Insurance Stars in the last match of an opening round in the 2019/20 Dodram V-League regular season: 3-2 (22-25, 18-25, 25-19, 25-19, 25-13). The Belgian Bram van den Dries top-scored for the KB Stars with 18 points, while Kim Hong-Jeong added 4 kill blocks.
