Minchanka and Shakhter rule over Belarusian championships

The playoffs of the resumed men’s and women’s 2019/20 Belarusian Championship came to an end after two days of competition.

The 2019/20 Division A playoffs for both genders were expressly held at the Chizhovka-Arena in Minsk, with semifinals and finals in just two days. Minchanka in women’s and Shakhter in men’s competition won titles.

Minchanka beat the reigning champions Zhemchuzhina Polesye in the women’s final by a 3-0 (25-17, 25-21, 25-16) to win the title for the seventh time. Three players from the winning side received individual awards: Nadzeya Smirnova (Best Scorer), Anastasiya Kananovich (Best Setter), and Madzeya Stoliar (Best Blocker).

Shakhter clinched the fourth title in a row in men’s competition, which is the overall number of titles on the account of the Soligorsk team. In the final, they prevailed over Stroitel in straight sets.
