With the second win in two days over Panthers, in which Russian Dimitriy Muserskiy scored 37 points (6 blocks), the Suntory Sunbirds took over the vice-leadership of the 2020/21 Japanese Men’s V.League Division 1 regular season. The position that exactly the Panthers held until today. It was the 8th success in a row for the Osaka-based club in the competition.
Suntory waited for the failure of the Wolfdogs Nagoya against VC Nagano Tridents to eventually become the leaders in the charts but it didn’t come. The Pole Bartosz Kurek put down 34 points in a 3-1 victory of his team, while Tomohiro Ogawa made 83.3 % reception (21 digs). Thus, the Wolfdogs are 2 points ahead of Suntory in the standings (47-45).
Although a duel between FC Tokyo and Toray Arrows didn’t have a significant impact on the ranking, a display of Krisztián Pádár has to be stressed. Hungarian international scored 46 points for the latter!
