Team King and Team Larson noted down wins at the start of the final week (Week 5) of the 2021 Athletes Unlimited Volleyball.
No. 1 pick in the last draft, Puerto Rican Áurea ’Aury’ Cruz, led Team King (Purple team) to the first win at debut of Brie King as a captain. They beat Team De La Cruz (Orange team) by a 68-58 (2-1 in sets) with Cruz finishing the game with 15 kills, 3 blocks, and 9 digs. She earned MVP 1 and additional 60 points to put her at 328 overall. The remaining two MVPs also went into the hands of Team King players: Alex Holston was MVP 2 (206 overall points), while Kristen Tupac was voted MVP 3 (215 total points).
Team Larson (Gold) defeated Team Lowe (Blue) by prevailing in two out of three sets and winning the match by a 72-55. Cori Crocker stood out for Team Larson with 9 kills and 4 blocks and was voted MVP 1. Overall, she collected 308 points. With 13 digs and 2 aces on the winning side, Cassidy Lichtman earning MVP 2 honor and 310 overall points. Team Lowe captain Karsta Lowe was voted MVP 3.
Jordan Larson still holds the lead, which brings the title of league champion, on the leaderboard with 4,076 points. Dominican Bethania De la Cruz is on second place with 3,325 points.
