China – Thailand

Following thrilling victories over Serbia and Japan, World No. 1 China continued to show their consistency in the 25-15, 25-10, 25-16 sweep of Thailand.

Ting Zhu scored 17 points for China to lead the game while Ning Wang added 11. Tanaporn Polrueng led the Thailand team with seven points.

China started strongly with powerful serving and lethal spikes from the left wing by Ting Zhu and Fengjiao Wang to take a stress-free 1-0 set lead (25-15). Thailand did their best to resist, but could not stop the fast Chinese offense in the second set. The Thai women, however, managed to keep positive poise early in the third period (14-14) until China geared up for an undisputed 25-16 set win and, as a consequence, their third straight-set triumph at 2013 FIVB Women’s U20 World Champs.

On Tuesday, China will face Colombia while Thailand challenge Serbia in their last Pool B match.
