WCHJ W: USA rumble past Thailand 3-1

USA recovered from their modest pool campaign to beat Thailand 3-1 in the second match on the seventh day of the FIVB Women’s U20 World Championship in Brno on Friday morning. Best scorer of the match with 21 points was Alexandra Malloy for the United States of America. Merete Lutz added 20. Tanaporn Polrueng contributed 17 kills for Thailand.

The world No. 5 overcame Thailand 25-23, 23-25, 25-17, 25-22 to start the classification phase 17-20 in style. Thailand is still waiting for their first win at Women’s U20 World Champs

It was a tough battle between World No. 5 USA and World No. 19 Thailand in the second match of the classification phase for the ranks 17-20. Even though Thailand bounced back in the second set, the US athletes eventually proved too strong for the Asians. 

USA will continue their race for the 17th place on Saturday versus Nigeria while Thailand take on Puerto Rico
