Puerto Rico easily won against Nigeria (25-21, 25-18, 25-13) to get their first win of the tournament and their first 3 points on the special Classification for 17th-20th places. This and other volleyball news read on Worldofvolley.com.

Puerto Rico captain Marie Pilar Victoria: “We trained very hard yesterday and played well today. It´s our first win, we are satisfied and I hope we’re going to win other matches too.”

Puerto Rico coach Carlos Cruz: “We played well today. We were motivated, from the second set we pushed hard to win. The next games? We’re ready to face anyone.”

Nigeria coach Sergey Ovechkin: “We could not win the second set, but we had problem with our reception. Tomorrow we will play against USA, they are a good team, but we will give our best and try to win.”

Nigeria captain Mercy Promise: “We played well, but Puerto Rico were better organized than us. Each game for our team is good to earn experience.”
