“I have seen many things in my life but nothing can be compared to what we experienced tonight” said Can Ayvazoglu. “This is just unbelievable. I remember that back in 2005 I played with Turkey’s national team at the Summer Universiade and we had some 6,000 to 7,000 fans cheering on us in Izmir. However, what I have seen today here in Gdansk, really goes beyond any expectation. In our country women’s Volleyball is one of the most popular sports but I am really overwhelmed with what I have seen here at ERGO Arena. It was kind of crazy. You really have got the best Volleyball fans in the world. It is also a great thing that they support your team so passionately” he added.
Emin Gök also got goose bumps and was impressed with what he got to see at ERGO Arena where 11,000 people had come together for the debut of the guys in red and white jerseys. “It was once more amazing. This happens anytime I play in Poland and before the home crowd. This is something you can’t find anywhere else in the world. This is my first time here in Gdansk and have to admit that ERGO Arena is a magnificent hall”.
