WCHU23 W: Dominican breeze past Turkey for second win

Dominican Republic cruised to a straight set (25-18, 25-16, 25-21) victory over Turkey earning in the process their second victory in as many days in Pool A of the FIVB Women’s U23 World Championship on Sunday.

Jeoselyna Rodriguez had an outstanding overall performance finishing with 15 points in leading the balanced offence of the winners thanks to solid performance by setter Camil Dominguez. Rodriguez had seven aces to go with two blocks and six spikes for Dominican.

Brayelin Martinez and Yonkaira Peña contributed 13 and 12 points to the victory, while Candida Arias chipped in with 8 tallies.

Ceren Kestirengoz was the only Turkish player that reached the double digit mark in the scoring charts with a match-high 16 points.
