The 34-time men’s club champions of Egypt, Al-Ahly SC, announced signing the contract with Garrett Muagututia.
A long-time member of the U.S. National Team, Muagututia, will wear the jersey of African giants Al-Ahly (the 14-time winners of the African Club Championship) in the 2021/22 season.
The 33-year-old outside hitter has been competing internationally since 2011 and represented his country in many continental and international tournaments, winning the gold medal in the 2012 Pan American Cup and 2014 FIVB World League. Muagututia also has extensive experience at the club level as he played professionally in a number of strong European leagues, the last of which was the Polish league (Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie). He was a part of the U.S. roster at the Tokyo Olympics.
