Interviews of the three members of the Belgium National Team in which they accused the head coach Vande Broek of constant bullying pushed the captain of the team Van de Vyver closer to the decision to retire internationally, which she made in principle at the end of 2021 CEV EuroVolley.

On her Instagram, the 28-year-old setter confirmed the statements of her teammates in regard to verbal harassment from Vande Broek as true. Later, in an interview for Belgian media, Van de Vyver said she didn’t want to continue playing for the ’Yellow Tigers’ in this atmosphere, but stressed she would consider returning to the national team if Vande Broek is replaced with some other coach.
