The Argentine Volleyball Federation (FEVA) is eyeing Nicola Negro to take command of the women’s national team.
The FEVA seeks a new head coach for the women’s national team. Italian Nicola Negro is one of the names considered to take charge of ’Las Panteras’. In a news article on the Voley Plus website, the coach of the reigning Brazilian club champions, Gerdau Minas, is described as a “complex option”, given the limited financial conditions of the FEVA to find a replacement for Hernán Ferraro, who resigned after the 2022 FIVB World Championship.
According to the source, hiring a foreigner is seen by many as a necessity for adopting a new line of work and thinking in the country. In addition to Negro, the other names mentioned are Juan Manuel Barrial, currently coaching VK LVI Praha (the men’s club from the Czech Republic), Juan Manuel Serramalera (currently without an engagement), and Mario Gallego (the head coach of the country’s women’s top division club, San Lorenzo).
