The Thailand Women’s Volleyball National Team setter Pornpun Guedpard is the new signing for CS Rapid București.
The setter and captain of the Thailand National Team, Guepard, who showed off in the last FIVB World Championship, will play in Rapid for the rest of the season. The 29-year-old’s first experience outside of Asia will be wearing the jersey of the 19-time Romanian champions.
The Best Setter of the 2022 Asian Cup and two-time Best Setter of the Asian Club Championship has been without a club when 2022–23 started. Last season, Guepard played for two sides: Indonesia’s Jakarta Popsivo Polwan and PEA Sisaket in her home country. Guepard will have to earn a place in Rapid’s lineup given that Korean ’outcast’ Lee Da-Yeong occupies the position of the starting setter.
