The third day of Qualification Tournament (Cali, Colombia) for 2015 World Cup in Japan defined the pairs of the semifinals.

The unbeaten Argentinians will face home team of Colombia while Venezuela will challenge the Chilean team. The winners of these matches will each get automatically a spot in the World Cup to be held in September.

The decisive game opened the third round. Both Venezuela and Chile had a loss and a win.

Each team showed great technical and tactical level, but the Chileans were not able to stay calm and committed 39 errors that led to defeat.

 

Thus, Venezuela reached the semifinals with two victories and one failure – 3-1 (28-26, 25-23, 15-25, 29-27).

Kevin Pinerua scored 17 points for Venezuela, while Chile’s Vicente Parraguirre had 19.

In the last match of the first phase, Argentina smashed Colombia with experience and strength in service and attack – 3-0 (25-13, 25-12, 25-19).

Federico Martina collected 17 points in Argentina. On the other side, Jorge Payan was the most efficient player with 6.
