Belarus – Ukraine
After the thriller in Brest, home team of Belarus was on the verge to gamble away all it achieved in the first leg against Ukraine.
As a visitor, Belarus won in straight sets and it was expected to easily qualify for the ECH as it needed to take two sets in the rematch.
Ukraine (Chernukha scored 22) played great in the first two sets, won them and provided tough resistance in the third, but Belarus (Harelik had 18 points) showed power and turned around – 3-2 (28-26, 25-21, 20-25, 11-25, 16-14).
Belarus will play in the pool versus Russia, Croatia and Bulgaria.
