Turkey defeated Germany in straight sets, and most credits go to Gozde Yilmaz who scored 16 points and Neriman Ozsoy who added 14. Turkish girls have therefore stayed in the race for the semifinals.
Giovanni Guidetti, the new head coach of Netherlands, had a great start on his new job. Dutch team overpowered China, mostly thanks to Lonneke Sloetjes who scored 22 points.
In the last game of the second day, Russia presented a powerful performance and topped Dominican Republic after only three sets.
