In front of the home crowd in Maribor, Slovenia won the necessary two sets against the France in the second leg of additional qualifiers, since it was better than the opponent by 3-1, six days ago in Niort.
Although the French team threatened in the second set and won it, the Slovenians showed a great deal of fighting spirit and motivation, like in the first leg.
Živa Recek scored 22 for the winning team. Élisabeth Fedele collected one point less for France.
Slovenia will play in Pool A at the European Championship with the Netherlands, Italy and Poland.
The ECH will be held in Belgium and the Netherlands from September 26 to October 4.
