Ultimately, the Belgian team spirit and determination turned Polish 8-5 lead in a tie-break. Poland saved a match ball, but Freya Aelbrecht put the final 16-14.

Charlotte Leys scored 22 for Belgium, while Katarzyna Zaroślińska had 29 for Poland!

Belgian entrance to the quarter-final depended on Italy

Italy failed to qualify among top 8 teams, just like their male colleagues yesterday.

Romania beat an Italian team in straight sets, although the win ment nothing to them – 3-0 (25-23, 25-16, 25-21).

Italy needed a clear three-set victory, but Romania, who was winless before this clash, played for its pride with 11 from Adina Salaoru. Miriam Sylla scored 15 points for Italy.

Both Romania and Italy ended their journey in Baku.

The competition in Pool B started with the convincing victory for the Netherlands over Bulgaria 3-0 (25-20, 25-18, 25-19).

The Netherlands proved too strong for Bulgaria and eliminated them from the tournament with 16 from Celeste Plak. Elitsa Vasileva scored 13 for Bulgaria.
